Our guide will be waiting for you at Baltra Airport and once the group is completed they will accompany you to the Archipell Catamaran which is anchored in Puerto Ayora harbor. After arrival on board, we will check in and give you general information. Afterwards you will have lunch.
This island is located slightly in the north of Baltra. It is a low, flat island, formed as a result of a submarine lava formation uplift.Covered with low, vegetation, it contains the largest colony of magnificent frigate birds in the Galapagos. There is also a large population of blue-footed boobies that perform an amusing courtship dance when nesting conditions are right. It really is one of the highlights of this island.
Day 2: Prince Philip's Steps - Darwin Bay, Genovesa Island
Not only because of its historical English name (Tower) Genovesa has a royal touch. Follow into the footsteps of Prince Philip – Galapagos lover of the first hour – and visit this favourite birding spot with largest breeding colonies of red-footed and Nazca boobies, and look for a remarkable short-eared owl that hunts on foot!.
As one of the outer islands and most exclusive places of Galapagos, Genovesa is well worth last night’s longer navigation. This compact site in the heart of its flooded crater shows the extreme varied coastal ecosystems of Galapagos in miniature; nearly too much for a single day.
Day 3: Bartolomé - Sullivan Bay
At Bartolomé Island you will ascend to admire the spectacular panorama of the Sullivan Bay and the famous Pinnacle Rock. The beaches at the foot of the Pinnacle Rock are excellent for snorkelling from which you can discover the marvellous underwater world.
In the afternoon, you will visit Sullivan Bay on the east coast of Santiago. We land on a white coral sand beach and begin our walk over lava that flowed less than 100 years ago. This is the perfect place to see and feel the volcanic origin of Galapagos.
Day 4: Charles Darwin Station - Santa Cruz Highlands
Most memorable from the Charles Darwin Research Station will probably be the successful breeding centre and its celebrity ‘Lonesome George’.
In the afternoon, visit Santa Cruz Highlands. Santa Cruz offers excellent opportunities for viewing wild Galapagos giant tortoises, roaming through pastures in the agricultural zone and in the transition zone of adjacent El Chato Tortoise Reserve.
Day 5: Cormorant Point & Post Office Bay, Floreana
At Cormorant Point, you land on a green olivine sand beach. Following a 100m long path you will soon reach a beautiful lagoon with flamingo's.
In the afternoon, bring your postcards and post them in the peculiar traditional barrel on this historic site that seems to be located at the end of the world.
Day 6: Gardner Bay & Suarez Point, Espanola
Being one of the crown jewels of Galapagos, Española gives you the exclusive opportunity to become eyewitness of revolution. It is home to many birds, like the endemic Hood-Mockingbird. Gardner Bay provides you an excellent beach for swimming. Around the small islets nearby, snorkelers will find lots of fish and sometimes turtles and sharks. The bay is also frequented by colonies of sea lions, which like to swim with you.
Española’s west tip, Suarez Point, is a true bird watcher’s and photographer’s dream. Feel yourself right within an exciting nature documentary, and hike in short distance past most colourful marine iguanas.
Day 7: Pitt Point & Witch Hill, San Cristobal
Two wind sculptured tuff cones at Pitt Point constitute the extreme eastern end of Galapagos and were the first sight of land of HMS Beagle with Darwin aboard. Punta Pitt is one of the only two sites where all three types of boobies breed, and as well the site where great frigate birds swallow tailed gulls and Galapagos storm-petrels.
Enjoy a leisure afternoon in the lovely setting of Witch Hill’s crescent-shaped natural beach of soft power sand.
Day 8: Lobos Island - Depart San Cristobal Island
On your last day, visit the Asylum of Peace hike goes past a mesmerizing cave and visits a fascinating freshwater spring. La Loberia beach is an ideal spot to enjoy the ocean, as well as the cute sea lions that habit there.
You will be transferred to San Cristobal airport for your flight back to Quito/Guayaquil.
