Day 1: Arrive to Norfolk
Welcome to Norfolk Island! Upon arrival to the airport you will be met by a representative who will escort you to the car hire desk. The drive to your accommodation is very short as the Island is only 8km long and 5km wide.
Once you arrive to your accommodation, you might just want to relax or venture out to explore your surroundings. The best way to explore Norfolk is on a pushbike, which would be available for your use while staying here.
Day 2: Half Day Island Tour
Today you will join an orientation tour of the island which is a must for every visitor. Visit Historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge & much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches & golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel, our Government, our laws & lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Rest for a delicious morning or afternoon tea in the garden of an Island home.
In the afternoon visit Cyclorama, one of Norfolk’s most popular attractions. Walk inside a huge circular panoramic painting and experience the history of the Bounty adventures and discover how the world’s most famous mutiny created the Norfolk Island community.
Day 3: Hilly Goat Farm Visit
Norfolk is a great place to find and taste the wonderful local produce. Today you will visit the stunning cliff top property at Anson bay to meet the cheeky goats, wander the self sufficient property and watch the milking & cheese making process. Then sit down to ocean views and enjoy a spectacular banquet of homegrown produce, cheeses and freshly baked breads. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon that will see you return to your accommodation to ‘Bally ap’ for the evening.
Day 4: Breakfast Bush Walk
Early this morning you will join a lovely guided walk in the bush. Take your choice of a stroll through Palm Glen or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. At the end of the walks you meet on the cliff top for a delicious breakfast BBQ.
Later in the afternoon we highly recommend to visit Two Chimnies Winery. Two Chimneys is a boutique vineyard set against a tropical rainforest. Enjoy a unique food & wine experience overlooking the vines in the warmer months or nestle around the fireplace in the cooler months. Two Chimneys is renowned for its sensational vineyard platters, made from the best fresh produce from the family garden.
Day 5: Colleen McCullough Tour
This morning you will discover the fascinating life of Colleen McCullough, world-renowned author of 24 books, who called Norfolk Island home for almost 36 years. She and husband, Norfolk Islander, Ric Robinson, created a luxurious hideaway and maintained their privacy to ensure that Colleen had the perfect environment for her writing. Some of her most powerful titles were created in this much-loved sanctuary. Be escorted through her magnificent home and view Ric and Colleen’s priceless collection of artifacts gathered on their travels all over the world.
This is a glimpse into the life of a modern-day literary icon. If you have read her amazing books, you will love the experience of sharing the world of Colleen McCullough, author of “Tim”, “The Thornbirds” and “Morgan’s Run”.
Day 6: Day at Leisure
Today you get to explore at your leisure. There are various tours on offer, something for everyone whether you are a history lover or adventure seeker. You can choose from historical and cultural tours, food and wine experiences, hikes and water adventures, cruises or fishing trips, which are very popular.
Norfolk Island annually hosts many events including Jazz and Country Music festivals, which attract a popular line up of well renowned artists, so it's always good to check if anything is on during your stay.
If you prefer today to be a bit more relaxed, you can just wonder around the island on foot or push bike. The beach is only 5 minute drive from the property and the use of snorkelling gear and fishing rods is complimentary.
Day 7: Island Fish Fry
The perfect way to spend your last night on the island is to enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish, followed by Island desserts & tea or coffee. Enjoy some local entertainment on Norfolk’s beautiful, Puppy’s Point.
Day 8: Depart
Today drive back to the airport to drop off your rental vehicle and board your departure flight.
