Itinerary Highlights
- See the dramatic changes in landscape, right from the little palm-covered Mamanucas, to the rugged, majestic southern Yasawa Islands to the vivid Blue Lagoon, framed by picture-perfect beaches.
- Visit a remote Yasawa Island village and be part of a traditional kava ceremony, enjoy a meke performance and browse the village market.
- Socialise with Yasawan locals over a traditional feast cooked and enjoyed in their village.
- Be carried away to paradise with a full day relaxing at our private beach on Nanuya Lailai Island.
- Take a guided walk across an island to one of the South Pacific’s most remote cafes, 'Lo's Tea Shop'.
- Learn the Fijian arts of basket weaving, wood carving and learn to cook traditional dishes.
- Get to know the ‘reef locals’ with the fascinating activity of fish feeding, or really get to know the ‘reef locals’ and swim with sharks or manta rays (seasonal)

Day 1: Modriki Island
Depart Port Denarau at 3pm aboard the MV Fiji Princess.
Cruise to the sandy beaches of Modriki Island, as featured in the Tom Hanks film Cast Away. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and canapés prior to tonight’s Captain’s Welcome Dinner. Your evening will include entertainment provided by our friendly and talented singing, dancing, guitar-playing crew.
Day 2: Soso Bay
Before breakfast, plunge into Modriki’s crystal-clear lagoon or wander along its white sandy beach. Spend your morning swimming with reef sharks (weather permitting) or view from a glass bottom boat. Then after lunch, tie your sulu and visit the chiefly village of Soso, a current day Fijian island village. Ease into the evening with drinks on the sundeck, followed by traditional Indian Thali dinner, with Bollywood dancing and movies to follow.
Day 3: Naukacuvu Island
Sunday is all about tradition. After breakfast, attend a village church service, then head back to the boat for a Sunday roast lunch as we cruise to the beautiful Naukacucu and Narara Islands. Learn to cook traditional Fijian recipes and enjoy a buffet dinner of Fijian cuisine along with a choice of European dishes before a round of Fijian bingo!
Day 4: Yalobi Bay
As the Fiji Princess arrives at the stunning Sacred Isles, you'll be sure you are lost in paradise. The Backdrop of the neighbouring Waya Lailai volcanic formations is breathtaking. Spend the remainder of the day swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing on the beach. In the afternoon you can learn the art of a Fiji style high tea and partake in a cooking lesson on how to make 'Roti in Lolo'. Enjoy a complimentary sparkling wine at sunset prior to the Captain’s Welcome Dinner where we welcome our new 4 day cruise guests.
Day 5: Blue Lagoon
Today’s destination is the famous Blue Lagoon and our own private beach on beautiful Nanuya Lailai Island. M.V. Fiji Princess will tie off to a coconut tree and this is your chance to jump off the back of the ship as many times as you like and swim to shore. Optional activities include snorkelling, fish feeding and volleyball. A very special night is ahead with a traditional Fijian Lovo — a meal cooked underground in a fire pit and dinner on the beach. Tonight’s entertainment is a Meke performance by local villagers.
Day 6: Sawa-I-Lau Island
Most of the day is at leisure at Blue Lagoon. Spend the morning on a guided walk to Lo’s Tea Shop on the other side of the island or participate in Fijian activities including basket weaving or a snorkelling safari. Lunch is on board while cruising north to the sacred Sawa-I-Lau Caves. Steps rise from the shore up to the first cave. You can view the majestic cavern from the stairs or take to the water. A short swim though an underwater passage takes you into the second of these stunning limestone caves.
This evening includes a special visit to Tamasua Village. A yaqona ceremony and traditional village style feast sitting on floor mats. the villagers will share their culture and home with us for the evening.
Day 7: Drawaqa Island
Cruise to Drawaqa Island and on arrival our Marine biologist will tell you all about the local fish, marine life and conservation work the Vinaka Fiji Volunteer team are doing in this area. During May to October you can snorkel with Manta Rays. You will also have the option to visit a local school. Tonight enjoy a BBQ dinner onboard, under the stars and get ready to party Fiji style.
Day 8: Port Denaru
Enjoy breakfast on board as the MV Fiji Princess cruises back to Port Denarau. Back at port you’ll be serenaded with the traditional Isa Lei farewell song by the crew, as your exploration of the beautiful Yasawa Islands comes to an end.
