Heron & Wilson Island Escape

6 Days

Discover the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and enjoy the ultimate island castaway experience staying two different natural and secluded coral cays: Heron Island and Wilson Island. If you're a nature lover, Heron Island really is a special place. The Island is a coral cay, surrounded by 24 square kilometres of reef and boasting several nesting spots for green and loggerhead turtles. Heron Island is a protected sea turtle nesting ground, and one of the few places where the eco traveller can watch sea turtles nesting and hatching.

Equally beautiful, Wilson Island is the ultimate island castaway experience, offering seclusion in a setting of unrivalled natural beauty and playing host to just 18 guests at any one time staying in 'Reef Safari Tents'. Covering just 5.24 acres, this natural coral cay is both part of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by it. Its pristine waters host an imaginable variety of marine life including coral and fish – in fact some of the best snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef is right off the beach at Wilson Island.
