Day 1: Victoria Falls
Your adventure starts at a comfortable lodge at Victoria Falls. You will have your afternoon at leisure to relax or explore Victoria Falls town and the numerous activities it offers. Activities in Victoria Falls include White Water Rafting down the Zambezi Gorge, Canoeing on the upper Zambezi and Helicopter Flights over the Victoria Falls, which can be pre-booked before your trip.
Day 2: Victoria Falls - Chobe
Today you will have a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, with your guide meeting you at 9am for the tour briefing. After this, you will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Victoria Falls (park fees own expense). Enjoy lunch in Victoria Falls town before leaving for Botswana. You will then head towards a rustic camp at the edge of Chobe National Park, where we will stay 2 nights. Look out for any wildlife along the way as you travel through the Chobe National Park to get to your destination.
Day 3: Chobe National Park
Time is spent in Chobe National Park, which is incredibly rich in game due to the Chobe River providing water all year round. Large herds of elephant and buffalo are frequently seen. Due to the high density of herbivores in this area many predators, such as lions and leopards, can be found. While staying at Chobe Elephant Camp or a similar lodge in this area, a game drive and boat cruise within the Chobe National Park allows the discovery of this incredible area from both land and water.
Day 4: Chobe - Khwai
After breakfast, your adventure continues through to the Southern parts of Chobe National Park, having lunch in the Savuti area and travelling onward to the Khwai River area, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. This is one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana with very high concentrations of game. The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Enjoy game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets.
Day 5: Khwai and Moremi
Game drives to explore the region surrounding the Khwai River (North-east Moremi / Khwai Concession). You will spend as much time as possible in this stunning area.
Day 6: Khwai - Maun
Inspired by the beauty of the area, you will travel South to the outskirts of Maun. Arriving around noon, you will enjoy lunch at camp. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to enjoy a scenic flight or a visit to a local Elephant orphanage (extra cost). Night at a comfortable lodge on the outskirts of Maun.
Day 7: Okavango Delta
Today we explore the famous Okavango Delta, with a full day mokoro excursion into a community-managed concession area. Your guide will take you on a scenic drive to the mokoro station where you will meet your mokoro poler/guide, who will share with you hidden secrets of this water system and take you on a nature walk. After experiencing the pristine wilderness in your dugout canoe and on foot, you will head back to camp for dinner.
Day 8: Maun - Makgadikgadi
After a relaxed breakfast you will head towards your next lodge, an oasis on the edge of the Makgadikgadi National Park, overlooking the Boteti River in Khumaga village. You will have lunch at your camp and the afternoon will be spent in the village of Khumaga, a small village of about 1000 people. You can find out about their way of life and further insight into the local culture.
Day 9: Makgadikgadi
An early morning start to explore the Makgadikgadi area, which is home to a fascinating variety of desert specialised wildlife as well as predators including lion, hyena and cheetah. In addition, this area Is famous for one of the largest zebra migrations in Africa, which you may have the opportunity to witness.
Day 10: Return to Maun
After a relaxed breakfast, you will make your way to Maun Airport where the safari officially ends at 12h00.
