Day 1: Maun - Makgadikgadi
Your guide will meet you at Maun Airport at 14h30, where you will be briefed and thereafter head towards your first lodge, an oasis on the edge of the Makgadikgadi National Park , overlooking the Boteti River in Khumaga village. Spend the late afternoon relaxing by the poolside or enjoying the river view from the lounge.
Day 2: Makgadikgadi
An early morning start to explore the Makgadikgadi area, which is home to a fascinating variety of desert specialised wildlife as well as predators including lion, hyena and cheetah. In addition, this area Is famous for one of the largest zebra migrations in Africa, which you may have the opportunity to witness.
Day 3: Makgadikgadi - Maun
After breakfast, you will visit the village of Khumaga, a small village of about 1000 people. You can find out about their way of life and further insight into the local culture. After this, you will depart from the Makgadikgadi and travel west to Maun, arriving around noon, in time for lunch at camp. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to enjoy a scenic flight or a visit to a local Elephant orphanage (extra cost).. Night at a comfortable lodge on the outskirts of Maun.
Day 4: Okavango Delta
Today we explore the famous Okavango Delta, with a full day mokoro excursion into a community-managed concession area. Your guide will take you on a scenic drive to the mokoro station where you will meet your mokoro poler/guide, who will share with you hidden secrets of this water system and take you on a nature walk. After experiencing the pristine wilderness in your dugout canoe and on foot, you will head back to camp for dinner.
Day 5: Maun - Khwai/Moremi
After breakfast, the drive takes you through beautiful wildlife areas, game viewing as you go. Your journey is to the Khwai River, on the border of Moremi Game Reserve - one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana with very high concentrations of game. The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Enjoy game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets. Night at Khwai Guesthouse in the Khwai Village.
Day 6: Khwai/Moremi
Game drives to explore the region surrounding the Khwai River (North-east Moremi / Khwai Concession). You will spend as much time as possible in this stunning area.
Day 7: Maun - Chobe
The safari then heads North towards a rustic camp at the edge of Chobe National Park, where we will stay 2 nights to explore the northern reaches of the park. This day will again be a full day activity as we will do a full day of game drives through the Savuti area of the Chobe National Park and North towards the Chobe flood plains. You will have your lunch break along the road surrounded by great wildlife and arrive late afternoon into your lodge.
Day 8: Chobe National Park
Time is spent in Northern Chobe, a park which is incredibly rich in game due to the Chobe River providing water all year round. Large herds of elephant and buffalo are frequently seen. Due to the high density of herbivores in this area many predators, such as lions and leopards, can be found. While staying at Chobe Elephant Camp or a similar lodge in this area, a game drive and boat cruise within the Chobe National Park allows the discovery of this incredible area from both land and water.
Day 9: Chobe - Victoria Falls
Today the journey takes you to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe (Visa required), where you will spend the night at a comfortable lodge. Your guide will introduce you to the team at your lodge, and bid you farewell. The lodge team will assist you with arranging any of the many activities you can enjoy at Vic Falls. Spend the afternoon at leisure - visiting the majestic falls themselves, or shop for curios. Please note that dinner on your last evening will be at your own expense.
Day 10: Depart Victoria Falls
The safari officially ends at 8h00 on Day 10, but if you choose to stay longer, there are plenty of activities on offer, which can be pre-arranged.
Activities in Victoria Falls include White Water Rafting down the Zambezi Gorge, Canoeing on the upper Zambezi and Helicopter Flights over the Victoria Falls, and many others.
